Steak, Football, Brunch & Concert

On Friday night Christian & I were lucky enough to enjoy dinner at Morton's Steakhouse to celebrate our birthdays (we had a gift card).

Union station is across the street

We started with some oysters (figured they'd be safe from Morton's).  I had never had one before (gasp!).  Eh.  I could only taste the horseradish.

Then we each had some steak (of course) and shared the brussel sprouts (also a first for me, but they had bacon on them so I knew they'd be good, and they were!) and some spinach and mushrooms.

We got the leftovers wrapped up and had the molten chocolate lava cake thingy (ppl told me a must have).  I wouldn't usually order this but it was delish!

On Saturday afternoon I slept in a bit (shocker), cleaned the house and ran some errands.  Carolyn & Will came over at 5 and we headed to Boulder to our friends Michelle & Kyle's house to watch the Bronco's/Pat's game. Meaghan and Pete also joined us.

My fake Bronco's shirt- Boise State

Tough loss Bronco's.   The game wasn't so exciting but we had fun.

Things turned ugly when Michelle busted out the Wii karaoke.

Sunday we went to a vegetarian place down the street for a healthy-ish brunch.  The wait was over an hour and a half, sheesh!  So we bailed and went to another place 1/2 block from our house, Parallel 17.

I had the BLT (amazing)

Yep, eggs on top.

Christian had mini breakfast sandwich's.

Apparently the order ticket fell and we waited a long time so they paid for our drinks and brought us dessert, which we just wrapped up bc we were so full.  Nice of them though.

We were supposed to run after our healthy-ish brunch but I just couldn't after this!  Christian is a real go-getter and still went for a quick run.

The day kind of got away from us.  I had an errand to do then I showered and hung out for a bit before we headed to our friends Brent & Eller's.  They had a bunch of people over for pizza & drinks before we all headed to a theater called the Ogden (down the street from us) for a concert.  I had never heard of the band ha.  They were called Fitz & the Tantrums.

Two bands played before them for a bit.
No idea what the first one was called.

The real opening act was "Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr"  Mmmhm thats right.

Kevin, for some reason I picture you reaching into your pocket and pulling out this list:

Names for My Band:
Hurricane Christmas

Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr

Jim Gardner Fan Club

They were pretty good.  Then the Fitz came on.  They had a girl with a tambourine who was really good (she kind of made the show I thought.  She was born in Denver).   We left around 11 bc I had to work today :(

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  I'm beat!

  1. My love for Jim Gardner continues unrequited. Also, Fitz's best song is their remake of Arthur's Theme from the also remade version of Arthur.
