Snakes, Pastrami & The Legend

Thursday I took my little guy back to the Museum of Nature & Science.  We've been going a lot on Thursday's because it gets us out of the house on cold days and my other nanny friend who we had play-dates with a lot no longer works on Thursday's.

Here are some pics from a few weeks ago when I took him to a members-only preview of the Lizard & Snakes exhibit:

I think I enjoyed it more than my client did.  I think the little ones lost interest because the snakes and lizards didn't move a muscle most of the time.

Check out this beast:

This week we just went in the Discovery Zone which is a room for the little ones:

digging for dinosaur bones...

Looks really dirty but its rubber material so it doesn't stick to you.

Loved watching them fix the escalator

Waving to mom who is downtown

Friday night we decided to go try out The Bagel Deli for dinner since we had no food in the house.  Its a Jewish deli that the family I nanny for loves and that was on diner's drive in's and dives.

Here is the DD&D video if you want to see it:

It is nothing fancy, a diner type place in a shopping center:

When you walk in the left side is a deli counter and all of the "to go" stuff.

Family photos hang on the walls

Meat Knish?  No thank you!!

I imagine a lot more ppl come here since the show aired, they have a bulletin board to track all of their  visitors.  The TV above the map shows DD&D on repeat.

We shared Matzo ball soup

Christian got a pastrami & corned beef sandwich

I got a Turkey Reuben & pulled out all of the sauerkraut :)

Before we even took one bite we asked for leftover boxes!

After dinner we came home, sat on the couch in silence playing (eachother!! and Maura) Words with Friends, our new obsession, then went to bed so we had a good nights sleep for skiing.  As soon as our heads hit the pillows Christian's pager went off and he had to go in to the hospital.  He got home around midnight.

We woke up early and hit the road at 6:30 headed for Arapahoe Basin, aka A-Basin, aka The Legend (not really worth all of these names).   We met Carolyn & Will and another couple Meghan & Jack.

The Driscoll's

A-Basin is a smaller mountain but very pretty :)  They can stay open as long as they want (people skied on the 4th of July last year) because they aren't on National Forest land.

You could see on the drive home the mountains were a bit more white (but not white enough).

No traffic on the ride home, yay!!

Still two more days (three for me!) of the weekend, woohoo!

Lastly, this is my 100th post!  A true milestone :)

Can't believe you are still reading these things...
