The Cruisers have 3 different starting points since the following has grown so much.  So we rode our bikes about 15-20 min to our closest meeting point which was the Skylark Lounge.  When we first arrived I was thinking maybe I would be disappointed...BUT I was certainly not.  I didn't get many photos inside the bar since it was so dark. You meet at the bar around 7pm and head out to ride at about 8:45.  This weeks theme was Christmas in July.  We didn't go all out because we weren't sure what to expect.
Lauren & I ready to ride...
Preparing to ride to Civic Center Park, also known as the COD- the circle of death where all 3 groups of Cruisers converge.

The ride to the park was pretty fun, it was about 10-15 minutes. Each bar has a ride leader and they have a hooked up bike with a sound system.  I was VERY upset there was no christmas music- just one sad carol on the way.   I lost my padded bike seat twice.  We stopped at the liquor store for beer to drink when we got to the park.  (that's what the cool kids do?)  When we made it to the park I was pretty impressed with the crowd.  I immediately recognized why they called it the circle of death.  A bunch of people gathered in the middle of the circle with the music and others rode around them in a circle.    I was the only brave enough one to enter the circle.  It is definitely  deathly- hard to get out once your in.  I only took about 3 laps and made a fast exit. (I apologize for the poor photo quality)

Little did I know this was barely a 1/4  of the crowd to come.

He has a reindeer attached to his bike.

Great people watching.  I look scared.  I was.

Overall it was a great time for a Wednesday night!  I will be in Penn State all next week for my last course but look forward to more Cruisin' when I return.
