Oktoberfest in Breckenridge

This weekend we attended Oktoberfest in Breckenridge.  Nine of us rented a house in Breck (hey, it's what the locals say).  On Friday I worked a bit then picked up Carolyn and Dana and headed for the mountains.  The drive takes 1.5 hours.  We were the first to arrive.  Michelle did a GREAT job finding us an awesome house!

In we go...

When you first walked in there was a little family room with a fireplace.
The window almost looks like a painting on the wall  :)

Around the corner is a hallway with a bedroom, laundry room and bathroom.
Then the kitchen.  It had a nice big table but I didn't get a pic of it.

Out the kitchen door to the deck

On the other side of the kitchen was another family room and a flat screen TV and the door to our bedroom with a private bath  (all the bathrooms had heated floors)

I didn't take many pics upstairs but there was a bunk room, bathroom and the master suite.   Here is a pic of the master bath which was open to the bedroom:

Lastly there was a sweet basement.

Just outside the basement was our hot tub which I also did not photograph.

Here is a video  from the deck off the kitchen:

I didn't take anymore pics on Friday night.  Michelle made us some yummy baked ziti.  After dinner we got a little rowdy and the girls went dancing in town.   We had a lot of fun!!  And I have a chipped front tooth to prove it!  WHOOPS!

The next morning we were all feeling a little "tired" but we had a yummy breakfast at the house and headed to town for Oktoberfest.

Carolyn (at 9 am) needed a little hair of the dog to get going  :)

Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate much but it didn't stop our fun!

Walking to town...

A glorious chair lift bench we passed:

Our 20 pound beer steins.  First cheers of the day!

Whenever the sun came out everyone yelled & cheered.

Carolyn & Meaghan have some drinking to do!

 The girls:

Several people dressed in lederhosen.
Those girls must have been FREEZING!!

The juggler on stilts put on a show for us.

Here is a video of Carolyn & I you do not want to miss (my arms & shoulders are so sore!!) :

Ouch...

My neck & shoulders are hurtin' today!

Some guy at his bachelor party...

Time for some food!

Christian & Eller (Lauren) gettin' after the turkey leg:

Christian diving into the Polish Sausage:

Here I am enjoying the delicious pierogies!
I was much happier after I took my first bite :)

Back to the beer...

Brent & Eller staring deep into each others eyes:

We had rain on and off all day.  At one point we ducked into a bar & played some games at a big table.  Just before we left we even had some hail:

A rainbow:

Here comes more rain!

I'm not as intoxicated as I look... I think Meaghan had to pull my hood back bc you couldn't see my face.

Time to go!  We walked to the gondola and caught a shuttle to home sweet home.  The girls went STRAIGHT to the hot tub we'd been dreaming about all day.  It was a long day!

Lets just say we were all EXHAUSTED!
Sorry Meg I had to....

Pretty drive home on Rt 70:

It was a shame about the weather but overall it was a great trip!!  Time for football in bed!
