On Saturday Karrie & Mark came to visit us :)
About an hour after they arrived Saturday afternoon we headed downtown to get Karrie & Mark some micro brews. The plan was to stop at two brewery's: The Great Divide & Breckenridge Brewery.
The honesty policy.... haven't seen this one in awhile. You crumble up $2 and shove it in this little slot- then you use some strange metal poker to shove it in. Interesting.
The Great Divide is undergoing renovations so most of it was closed off. It was smelly and claustrophobic so we left & headed to Breckenridge.
The Taco Bar was set up outside. |
Breckenridge Brewery is across the street from Coors Field. |

On our way home we stopped and grabbed some beer to go from The Great Divide and hung out in the backyard a bit before heading to dinner.
I borrowed two bikes from a friend (Thanks Lauren!!) but one bike was apparently made for ....well frankly made for AJ :) No one could fit on it. Hard to tell but it was so tall. You can't really see but the seat is up by Marks elbow.
For dinner we went to Larimer Square (of course, my favorite) to a place called Osteria Marco.
We ordered a bunch of stuff to share. First up the mussels which were a game time decision but were my favorite!
Spicy sausage, tomatoes & fennel
The Chef's Choice Cheese Plate & Italfine Parma Prosciutto
Pizza....
Fig & Crispy Prosciutto Fig Puree,
Goat Cheese, Fontina, Truffle Oil

Lamb Sausage Smoked Tomato Brodo,
Spinach, Roasted Red Peppers
Dinner was yum! With full stomachs, we headed home for some night caps and sleep since we planned on hiking in the morning.
Sunday morning we woke up and headed to Boulder to hike up to the Royal Arch.
Not a bad view!
Not gonna lie- this hike was harder than expected with several stops along the way.

The start of our hike.
The boys went and did some extra credit hiking.
People were rock climbing this on our way back. Doesn't look too bad in the pic but very steep & high!
Towards the end you had to use your hands a lot to maneuver through the treacherous rocks, which I liked bc it keeps your mind off the fact that you are dying.
The only thing that kept me going was knowing we were going to The Buff to eat afterward :)

Victory!
Mark, king of the mountain...
The only downside was it was quite crowded since it was a weekend.
Made it to the bottom... the hike down isn't easy either and I think all of our shins are a bit sore now.
We rewarded ourselves by taking advantage of the $0.99 mimosas at The Buff :)
Karrie and Mark headed inside to shop while Christian and I bought our season passes, yay!!
He can't wait to come back to Denver in the winter to try them out!!
Phew, long day. I'm not sure about everyone else but I needed a nap!
More to come...
Col, Have you learned nothing - you really should carry a stick to ward of snakes that come out of the rocks! Love, Mom
