A beautiful day at Keystone

Sunday morning around 7:30 Christian and I headed to the mountains for some skiing.  We didn't have the highest of hopes since our last outing to A-basin wasn't the greatest.  BUT, we had an awesome day!

Everyone getting ready to hit the slopes

Gondola at the base

Someone is happy!

It was a beautiful sunny day w no wind and we were nice and warm :)

 Breckenridge in the distance

so pretty!

ski bike anyone??
Sounds like I would need to wear a diaper to do that :)

This is the entrance to the 2nd gondola  that takes you to the more difficult terrain.  Not open today.

Lodge at the top of the mountain

Wine anyone?  (amazingly I passed)

Keystone has a cute little village

No thank YOU, Keystone!

Drive home...

As we were in the parking lot taking our gear off the couple across from us was leaving.  They hit the car next to them pulling out (nothing major, a scratch, but definitely knew they did and ran away).  Later when we went to go watch the Eagles game they were at the table next to us still in their ski stuff.  WHAT are the chances!?

Our season pass is called the Epic Local pass.  I download the app for it (EpicMix) and it keeps track (just by them scanning your pass when you go on the lifts) of what mountains you go to, when you go, what runs your did, your elevation, etc.  It will also give you weather and road conditions and so on.  This year they have photographers on the mountains that take your pic for free, then you can go on their website or on your app and see the pics, put them on twitter, facebook, email them, blog them, etc.  You can also buy a high resolution version if you want to.  Pretty cool!

Turkey Day, Playdate, & Goodbyes

On Thanksgiving morn my clients family invited a few families over for a Bloody Mary Bar, yum!!  So we headed over there from about 9:30-11:00.  Johnny & my client played very well together and it was fun!  (and no one broke anything which is always good)   One of the moms told me they had a cure for Autism now.  Guess I'm out of a job ;)   Sorry I didn't get any pics, I forgot :(

Afterwards we headed to whole foods to pick up the turkey- yes I cheated and got a pre-cooked turkey.  I was a little ashamed but in the end it was a great decision.  We were out of the house all morning and I have a small kitchen with one oven so it was crowded enough!  I also got 2 pies.  First I went to the bakery to get the pies- they were out of the apple I ordered so they gave me a free pie of my choice (I got a diff kind of apple).  Then we headed to the meat counter to get the turkey.   "I'm sorry what was the name again?  Your not on the list."  Panic ensues.  I was scared but knew the order must have gone through (I did it online) bc they knew what pies I ordered w/o me telling them.  Finally he realized that it was pre-cooked so I had to go back to the prepared foods section (phew!).  When I gave them my name there they also looked puzzled.  Panic ensues again.  I got a lot of "It will be out in just a few minutes..."  After a lot of waiting around we finally had a turkey!  In the checkout line he said he had to get some kind of a tag, but before he could get it, the man who gave it to me came out of nowhere and took it away, saying he gave us the wrong one.  GEEZ!!  More waiting... Anyway we eventually made it out with a turkey and 2 pies.

At home we gave the kiddos lunch and put them down for naps so we could cook.

Our menu included:

Turkey
Gravy
Waldorf Salad
Broccoli Casserole
Sausage & Cornbread Stuffing
Rolls
Cranberry Sauce
Mashed Potatoes
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Pie w/ Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Stuffing

I definitely  added a bit too much stock to my stuffing but at least it wasn't too dry?
Still tasted good :)

Boys up

Sooo.... since AJ is allergic to cats we banned them to the basement during the day, and let them out at night w the bedroom doors closed.  Unfortunately Stanley snuck out early Thanksgiving morning and we didn't realize Johnny had cornered him and tried to poke his eyes out.  Stanley got a good shot to his poor little face and just missed his eye ball :(  Poor Johnny, I felt so terrible!!!  Here he is later that day talking about it....

Don't really have anything to say about this nonsense...

Dominic kept throwing his pacifier into this urn haha.  Then he would stick his hand in and cry.

Since our house is small and we were having 7 people total for dinner we decided to do it in the backyard.  Luckily it was 70 degrees!!  We rented a heat lamp too which worked out great!  We were able to stay in the backyard after the kids went to bed and hang out without waking them up with our shenanigans.

Um guys?  Anyone coming to dinner?

Christian's fellow resident Brad joined us.  He just had a baby and wasn't able to go home with his wife & son bc he was on call :(    Glad he joined us!

Christian's plate (round 1)

It was a great night!!

The next morning my client's dad dropped him off for a few hours bc they had an appointment.  We were all dragging a bit but the kids had fun.  My clients dad forgot the bag of toys he had planned on bringing so we made due with what we had.  The kids played in the backyard most of the time.  There was a "tunnel" (patio heater cover) which they made into a boat :)

hehe between Johnny's hat (it's Lisa's) & the scratches on his face he looks like a poor little thing...

Later that night we had to say goodbye :(

Thanks so much to the Giesa's for coming to spend Thanksgiving with us!!!

We will miss them so much!

Pics are horrible sorry

I didn't get one stinkin' picture of me and the boys!  Ugh
