Christmas Whirlwind

The Thursday before Christmas, I said goodbye to my client

Having fun in his new sleeping bag

and Christian and I headed to the airport around 4:00 pm for our flight home to PA.  I was a little nervous throughout the day bc of all the snow we got but everything went smoothly!

Waiting to check our bags took longer than security, which I thought was quicker than usual

Our friend Garett (who went to the same HS as Christian, though we didn't meet until CO) was on our flight to and from PA.

Ready for take off

The landing was quite rough for me and I was white as a ghost :(  Garett was standing by with the barf bag but I held it in....

A big thank you to Maura who picked us up in "the worst rain EVER!" at 1 am!!  (Feel free to call her, she loves talking about it!)

We got to the house around 3 am and went right to bed.

We were so happy to see our nieces  Kevin & Lauren the next morning!
We had a few of our friends & family over for some mid-morning mimosas and bloody marys so we could catch up (thanks again to Maura for doing the shopping, you rock!).  It was great to see everyone, unfortunately I was so busy chatting I forgot to take pictures.

Then it was nap time so I would be rested up for the Doleva Christmas party.

Livy walking around in my heels
As usual, we had a great time at the party!  (We missed you Giesa's!!)

People were a bit up in arms bc there was a "misunderstanding" and the caterer forgot the carmelized candied bacon that we (I think I speak for all the guests) look forward to all year long.  I heard many people saying they were going to make it at their house the next day ha.

Every year Scotty plays the piano and we sing carols.  They hand out the 12 days of christmas ornaments which serves as your singing assignment for the song.  Karrie, Mark, Christian and I were four calling birds and busted out Eagles jerseys & some chanting.

Around midnight most people head out, but they are fools.  This is when the party really gets going.  This year Scotty stepped it up a notch and brought an amp so instead of playing the piano the whole time he say along with a mic to music he played through the amp. He was even rapping.  I'm pretty sure he has more fun than us.   I have LOTS of funny video but I will spare those who were there the embarrassment (for the most part).  Here are the few that I can actually show...

The next day we were all quite tired to say the least (thats night #2 up until 3 am).
Since Kevin & fam had to leave that night we had them open their presents.

Not sure whats happening here

Hmmm What could it be, Daddy??

Afterwards the girls took naps and we headed to Christians.
Muffy got a new kitten, Teddy.  Cutest little guy!

Such a fur ball!!!

Pat & Erika stopped by so we could catch up and finally meet adorable baby Claire!!  Again, only got one pic :(

After our visit we headed back to my house for the 7 fishes Chirstmas Eve.  My cousin James & my dad did not disappoint on the cooking!  Aaaand then back to Christian's for more festivities. (Night #3 up past 2 am)

Christmas morning we woke up and cooked breakfast (actually I just observed) before opening presents.

The animals got to open presents first :)

Teddy had the time of his life playing in all of the paper and boxes

Next we showered and ran over to my house for more presents

My dad sent me this earlier in the morning, the traditional 'kids' picture on the steps before presents:

Sorry mom & dad!

We (my siblings, etc) got my rents a Keurig w/ coffee cups w/ our pics on them

Orniments

House #3, Christian's aunt & uncles

Typical

Lastly we headed to my cousin Lori's house.  Great to see everyone, but phew, four houses is exhausting!!

The next morning we had a nice visit with Christian's grandfather

And headed to Philly to see my old co-workers :)  Miss them.
It was a really great turnout, thanks everyone for coming!!

Reunited and it feels so good....

The girls.  FYI- Ginner made me stand like this

A fun night, and to top it off I made Christian take me to get my FAVORITE pizza, Tony A's buffalo chicken.   I. am. drooling.

Couldn't wait the 30 min drive home....

To end our trip on Tuesday we stopped by my dads office for some lunch (Thanks Dr. Schmoyer hehe) & to say goodbye.

Then Muffy drove us and Garett to the airport (also raining pretty hard, thanks MIL!).  We had horrible traffic getting there and our flight was delayed but it was a smooth flight home.

Happy to see my kitties (Thanks Carolyn for checking in on them!) & finally today have a day off to get some sleep!

Hope you all had a great holiday!!
