Sooo.... my new obsession is knitting :)
My mom recently became a knitter and can knits lots of things: scarves, blankets, hats for the newborns at the hospital... just don't ask her to make anything with sleeves!
I've been saying I would like to learn and a few weeks ago Christian forwarded me a living social deal on a knitting class as a joke. Jokes on him I signed up instantly! This past Monday was my first class. I thought for sure it would be me and old ladies (don't get me wrong I love old ladies). I was so surprised to find 3 other girls my age, and two other women under 40 (I think). Everyone under 40, wow!
Here are a few pictures from the Lamb Shoppe I took on my phone (I pretended to be surfing the net. Who says that??)
I think this sweater is so cute- apparently its "not that hard". Its my inspiration piece :)
They told us to come a little early for class to get our materials. A bunch of us did so but the teacher was "running an errand" and the lady there didn't know what we needed. 10 minutes after class was to begin the lady finally called the teacher (owner of the shop) and she had no idea she was supposed to have a class. So more waiting around, then everyone scrambling to get their yarn & needles before beginning. Overall once we got started class was good. Teacher is a bit flighty but funny.
I got right to work on my homework when I got home!
Seriously mom? You know I'm going to destroy that! |
I'm making a "Wham Bam Thank You Lamb," which is basically a neck warmer/cowl neck scarf thingy. Next week we start a hat too.
I was knitting in the car waiting for husband to come out to the car after work
Notice the little hole at the bottom. Oops!
It's coming along!
That is all.
Also today it snowed, yay for snow!
hehe my hood is silly.
I got done work early. Happy hour!
