Stapleton

This is a random post but I wanted to show a little bit of where I "work."  The area is called Stapleton and used to be where the Denver Airport was years ago.  It takes me approximately 13 minutes to go door to door for work and  only 3 or 4 turns.  It is definitely a bit 'pleasantville' like and took some getting used to but now I can see why people live there- very clean, convenient, lots of playgrounds, you can get a nice big new house close to the city for a lot less money and EVERYONE has little kids.

You may have heard of it as it was the site of this years HGTV Green House (about 3 blocks from where I nanny):

Here are some more pics of the neighborhood (there are houses going up EVERYWHERE):

There is a cute little town center we can walk to w/ restaurants and some 'green space' where they have concerts, outdoor movies, yoga and a farmers market.

There are little parks/playgrounds all over- but the biggest one is Central Park, about 3 blocks away.  It looks like Seussville!!

And last but not least my favorite part... the pools!  There 5 pools in the community.  The closest is about 2 blocks.  The rest we drive to.  They are SOO clean compared to the ones closer to the city.  The first pic below is called the "Puddle Jumper" pool and opens the earliest.  Its the best one for kids bc it has a zero entry and lots of fountains and fun things for kids, but can get a little crowded...

I try to get to the pools by myself on my off days- I time it and go at nap time so its only adults :)

My client has two kitties Pokey and Reese.  Here is a pic of Pokey and I during naptime:
 And here is Reese
So that is where I spend my days- not bad!!

Stanley is jealous so here is a quick awful video of him being raked on the back porch- which he loves!:

Oh, Hai.

Lastly, on Sunday we had a cookout in Wash park with some of Christians work friends & some other guests:

The girls enjoyed getting some dirt on Christian for their lunch time conversations.  I haven't told them he used to be a you know what yet- I'm saving it ;)

That's all- bye!

  1. Geez, Col...I think those children on the spectrum have rubbed off on you. Here I was thinking you meant "raking" figuratively and you meant it literally....hehe...
